Some patrons wish for more generous portions in certain dishes, particularly with items like the salmon bagel, where the salmon might fall short in quantity. The bustling market atmosphere could be overwhelming for those seeking a quieter dining experience. A few reviews mention that specific dishes sold out quickly during peak hours, leading to disappointment for those eagerly wanting to try them. While the prices are generally seen as fair, there are occasional whispers about value for money depending on portion sizes. Additionally, the seating can sometimes feel limited during high-traffic times, making it less ideal for larger groups.
The Shrimp “Scampi” aka fried shrimp fritters were great with the lemon and lemon tart sauce.
What's to say? Shrimp po-boy was class. Fresh roll, rich prawns, spicy, sauce, crunchy pickles and lettuce. Owner was great craic too. Would happily go back
Great place! I found the prices to be fair and the portion was good! Got potato bread fries which were really great and a salmon bagel, didn’t have too much salmon in my opinion but was a nice snack. Friendly service and cards accepted!
Visited the stall at St Georges Market, Belfast. I ordered the fish sandwich (hake sandwich) which was very good - 2 fish fillets fried in front of you and served in a soft sub roll with lettuce, tomato and delicious sauces. Friendly service with a smile. Recommend a visit.
Great Irish chowder with plenty of seafood in in it👍
A fairly small portion of chowder for the price, I was genuinely surprised. Expected it to be heavy on fish as a result, it was not. One slice of shop bought bread came with it. I wouldn’t go back I’m afraid.
I had a fish po-boy at their stand in the Belfast market. I assume this is run by the same company as the restaurant. Unfortunately, my fish sandwich reminded me of the old Wendy's ad in the US, in this case "where's the fish?". Sandwich came with a large soft roll which was very nice and the dressing and other items were good. Unfortunately the two strips of fish were mostly breading. You can see that in the second picture I posted with this review. There was some fish in there but it was nowhere near "meaty" and the two strips did not even run from end to end of the bun so I tossed about a quarter of the bun. Usually a sandwich like this will fill me up. Unfortunately this one didn't.
You can’t miss the Irish Seafood Chowder, acclaimed as the best in Belfast. The Shrimp Po’ Boy Sandwich is also a hit, featuring fresh, crispy shrimp with a zesty sauce.
Prices are budget-friendly, ranging from £1 to £10, making it easy to grab a quick bite or indulge in a full meal without breaking the bank.
